Our Community Howlong Preschool

Our Community

As a not-for-profit, community-based centre, the administration and management of Howlong Preschool is sustained by a dedicated and collaborative team of staff, volunteer parents and local community members.

Community is a central value at our centre. We recognise that our families and children help shape the culture and fabric of Howlong Preschool. We welcome and encourage parents’ contributions in many ways throughout the year. For example, parents are invited to participate in school events and join the preschool management committee. We also are dependent on the hard work of volunteer parents who organise fundraising events and get their hands dirty at preschool working bees.

Communication is key to sustaining our community connection. Regular newsletters, the Kindy Hub App, and letters sent home, are three of many ways we stay in touch with our preschool families.

Community Involvement

Howlong Preschool has strong links with the local and wider community. The school community welcomes this involvement, as it is integral to the student's education.

There are many people from the community who assist us with curriculum activities, giving time, expertise, and wisdom to the children.

Parent involvement in all school-related activities is strong and is both encouraged and valued. Local traders and organisations are generous and supportive in a myriad of ways.

We utilise our beautiful local environment for learning and the appreciation and enjoyment that accompanies it.
